Frank Willett began his career in clay more than fifty years ago as a youth
in California. His work in porcelain and stoneware is widely known and
respected in the ceramic art community in New Mexico. A master of his craft,
he has won numerous honors and his work has been widely shown and collected,
both in New Mexico and nationally. He holds an MA in Fine Art from CSU
Los Angeles and taught high school art in California before moving to Santa
Fe in 1971, where he established Santa Fe Pottery on historic Guadalupe
Street. Throughout the years he has produced pottery continuously with
an unerring sense of beautiful form, good design and superb craftsmanship.
Of his work, Frank says, “These new pots are fun and whimsical; each is
different, unpredictable. I feel good about them, and am probably more
pleased with these new pots than any I’ve ever done. Making new forms is
still a driving force. There’s excitement in it. I visualize something
I want to make and it’s interesting to see how close I get to the visualization
in the finished piece. Accidents are sometimes better or worse than what
you had hoped for. Accident is always there."

are some samples of Frank's pottery.
