Jan Moeller began painting in 1994. Instructed primarily in watercolor,
it remains her main interest today. Color pencil has been her second
area of interest. She has recently begun to experiment in acrylic and enjoys
the different variations on technique that can be made with that medium.
As a representational watercolorist, she expresses the mood of the painting
through her use of color. Shadow and texture is also communicated through
color. The unique light of the West Texas sky provides many subjects that
are used as still life compositions.
Jan has a studio in Alpine, Texas which, though mainly a workspace, is
open as a co-op art show twice a year. These exhibits showcase a group
of 7-10 local artists whose work ranges from jewelry and stained glass
to 2 and 3-D works.
Below
are some samples of Jan's paintings.
