Except
during rare flood seasons, the Rio Grande River meanders steadily, but
moderately,
through
the meager farmlands that line the banks of the river in the Rio Grande
Village area of
Big
Bend National Park in southwest Texas. Sometimes you'll see Mexican
ranchers herding goats
on
the bluff across the river or a lone rider on a burro making his way from
the little Mexican
village
of Boquillas to his ranch house on the far side of the mesa.
